Informationen zum Artikel: COUPLE COPIES BACK IN!! BE FAST! THE MINNESOTA VOODOOMEN are a highclass Garage band from Tokyo; they combine 60s Garage, Surf and British Beat with Japanese Garage Punk. Their albums I KEEP SHAKING MY HEAD and BEAT EXPLOSION, as well as their EP TOO MUCH TEXAS DRIVER were released on DECKREC RECORDS and DADDY-O-NOV (RADIO UNDERGROUND) in Japan, but are completely sold out by now; consequently, SOUNDFLAT RECORDS releases an LP by this great band now. The album does not only offer outstanding covers of classic songs such as for instance 'Skinny Minnie' or 'Who do you love', but also striking songs of their own; a special focus should be placed on 'Garasu Goshi No Koi', which proves, that British Garage Beat also works in Japanese. The pieces 'I want to stand at her side (now)' or 'Easy Things' are examples of the raw, unpolished Garage Punk sound of these wild Japanese. At the moment THE MINNESOTA VOODOOMEN are busy taking over Europe with their tour through England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The reputation of their powerful and comparably crazy live shows precedes them; the band unite classical Japanese Garage Punk with harmonious Merseybeat Songs, which works out completely. Their outrageous live performances helped them share the stage with legendary bands such as THE MUMMIES, THE GHASTLY ONES or THE 5,6,7,8'S. The energy they are presenting on stage is definitely recognisable on their recordings. THE MINNESOTA VOODOOMEN play magnificent Merseybeat with a powerful Japanese accent, which they put across expressively on their highly recommendable LP.
