About This: LES KITSCHENETTES are a sextet based in the Normandy, who have set themselves to muscially revive the French 60s; this Mademoiselle and her five Messieurs fascinate equally with their ingenious songs - their debut EP QUI C'EST QU'A DIT QU'ON PEUS PAS IMITER LES ANGLAIS? was released on PINKITSCH PROD. - as with their charm. Their heroes are undoubtedly the stars of 1960s France, such as SERGE GAINSBOURG, RONNIE BIRD, BRIGITTE BARDOT, NINO FERRER etc. SOUNDFLAT RECORDS now publishes the KITSCHENETTES' second release in the context of the Soundflat Recocords DJ Single Series. Just like Vol. 1 of this single series (COOL JERKS/PSYCHODAISY), Vol.2 is also produced in the sense of the DJ copies in the 1960s; this single with its simple black and white lable design is limited to only 333 copies and thereby just perfect for collectors and DJs. The first of the two songs, 'Tu en fais trop' (French version of TONI MC CANN'S 'Saturday Date'), is arguably the paragon of French Garage-Rock. The vocals sung by charming Mademoiselle Lucille, which remind one somewhat of JACQUELINE TAIEB, a stirring melody and a danceable rhythm turn this song into a cool catchy tune, that you cannot hear enough times. The sinngle's B-side 'Eh jolie!' ('Hey, Hey Bunny' of JOHN FRED & HIS PLAYBOY BAND in French) combines alluring (,this time male,) vocals in the style of JACQUES DUTRONC with a catchy organ accompaniment and is no less convincing than the A-side; a brilliant song, which will fill dancefloors and at the same time revive the French 60s to a certain extent. Vol.2 of the Soundflat Records DJ Single Series by LES KITSCHENETTES is strictly limited and an absolute must for any lover of French 60s music!
