Informationen zum Artikel: THE CAVEMEN V are a new Garage band from Lyon including (ex-)members of THE BUTTSHAKERS, THE SLOW SLUSHY BOYS, CORTONA and LOST BOYS. This is their debut 7'' that proves that they really live up to their name! This single is primitive, trashy Garage Punk with a touch of horror and a great deal of raw rock'n'roll in it, just like you would expect it directly out from the cave. The A-side 'Don't Play With Me' is also their very first song; a classical Garage tune, that is backed up by strong exotica saxophone lines while dominated by singer Little Big Ian's great screaming vocals. In the middle the track features a short psychedelic fuzz bridge, just before it sweeps you along with its smashing rhythm again. Listening to their sound, it might not only be coincidence that the band's name reminds one of the amazing and legendary GRAVEDIGGER V. The B-side of the single is called 'Zombie Hop'; a title that already gives you a hint what this song is about: it tells of a city full of partying zombies who end their celebration by eating up each other. All of this is well reflected in the sound of the tune; it is a wild and rocking Garagepunker, bearing a few surf elements now and again and a crazy sax solo in the middle - so, just perfect to make you dance the zombie hop at your own horror-parties. You won't be able to get enough from THE CAVEMEN V's debut 45 DON'T PLAY WITH ME. We're longingly waiting for more by these French Garagepunkers!
