In 1956, in California, Willie Joe Duncan, a former busking partner of Jimmy Reed, recorded a frenzied Rythm n' Blues instrumental with the Specialty house band released as Specialty 576 (May 1956), demonstrating with his electrified Unitar the propulsive potential of the one-string. The wacky flip with Bob Landers on vocals is just as great.
