Barely a year after their debut "The Crystal Teardrop Is Forming", The Crystal Teardrop are already back - and "Love you more" finds the Midlands five-piece digging even deeper into the sounds of 1966-68. Jangling guitars, electric sitar, swirling Hammond organ and Alexandra Rose's wonderfully clear vocals are all over the place, with the band's recent touring having tightened things up considerably.

Love are a major influence - particularly their first three albums - alongside The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy and The Leaves, but thankfully this is much more than a game of spot-the-'60s-reference. There's Byrdsian jangle and folk-rock harmonies, tougher garage on "It's Too Late" and "The Eleventh Hour", Eastern instrumentation and raga-rock creeping in around the edges, before "Touch The Sun" lets the band properly stretch out into deep psych territory. Best of all, the whole thing was recorded live in the studio using '60s gear and as few overdubs as possible. Rickenbackers, Vox, Hammond, electric sitar, tanpura, swarmandal - bloody hell, they've brought the lot!

A colourful mix of garage, folk-rock, jangle and psychedelia that sounds authentically '60s without turning into fancy dress. A cracking second album from a band who are getting better fast!
