Texas psych-pop favourites THE DEATHRAY DAVIES are back with "Lampshade Earthquake Microphone", and they've brought along a whole suitcase full of psychedelic tricks! John Dufilho and his gang have been digging through their archives, rescuing recordings from an unfinished 2006 project and turning them into thirteen colourful little pop adventures. And considering these guys have always had a serious weakness for vintage garage rock, paisley psychedelia and ridiculously catchy melodies, that sounds like a rather fine idea to us!

Following their return with 2021's "Time Well Wasted" after a fifteen-year break, THE DEATHRAY DAVIES are once again exploring the wonderful territory where fuzzy guitars, swirling psychedelic arrangements and lovingly crafted pop songs meet. This time there's even more studio experimentation, unusual sounds and elaborate production, plus guest contributions from musicians associated with the legendary ELEPHANT 6 collective. Think THE DUKES OF STRATOSPHEAR, THE APPLES IN STEREO and the more adventurous corners of late-60s psychedelic pop, with a healthy dose of garage rock attitude thrown in.

Thirteen tracks of colourful, inventive guitar pop for anyone who likes their psychedelia packed with melodies rather than endless cosmic noodling. A lovely little discovery for fans of paisley pop, 60s-inspired indie rock and bands that aren't afraid to get a bit weird in the recording studio!
