Surrey's The TR5's deliver a double A-side of pure vintage-styled rock'n'roll, mixing late-'50s skiffle and rockabilly with the sharp beat of the early '60s. The band's own description of their sound as somewhere between the Cavern Club and Canvey Island isn't far off the mark.
Both sides are originals: "The Beehive (The Real Buzz Club)" is a frantic, dancefloor-ready rocker driven by twangy guitar, slap bass and a pounding backbeat, while "Done Me Wrong" keeps the energy high with plenty of British beat and rock'n'roll swagger.
No careful retro museum piece here - The TR5's play this stuff like it's still Saturday night in 1962. Two original rock'n'roll movers on one 7".
