SOME COPIES BACK IN! New Orleans' Twisted Teens make a wonderfully unruly entrance with their self-titled debut album. Raw, energetic and difficult to pin down, the band starts with punk and garage rock but happily wanders into country, folk and other unexpected territory along the way.

At the heart of the record are rough-edged guitars, frantic rhythms and Caspian Hollywell's ragged vocals, with pedal steel adding a distinctive twist to the band's scrappy punk attack. The songs are catchy without sounding polished, strange without trying too hard and packed with the sort of personality that's often missing from more conventional garage punk.

A chaotic, funny and surprisingly original debut from a band that clearly has little interest in following anyone else's rules.
