Russ Meyer, Tura Satana, sleazy boogaloo and a whole lotta trouble – now THAT sounds like our kind of 45! VOODOO 5, featuring Skip Heller and Lena Marie Cardinale, take a wild ride through the wonderfully trashy world of 60s exploitation cinema with this cracking little single on Alternative Tentacles. First up is a frantic reworking of "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!", complete with the film's infamous opening monologue, Cardinale's snarling vocals and a downright nasty guitar-versus-pedal-steel showdown between Heller and John McDuffie. Forget polite cocktail lounge exotica – this one's got claws!

Flip it over and we're heading straight into another Russ Meyer classic, "Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls", with a groovy Latin soul interpretation of THE CARRIE NATIONS' "In The Long Run". A rather tasty combination of swinging rhythms, cinematic atmosphere and Cardinale's soulful vocals. And as if that wasn't enough, the sleeve features a rarely seen photograph of the legendary TURA SATANA, supplied with the blessing of her estate!

Two slices of deliciously twisted soundtrack-inspired rock'n'roll for fans of wild 60s cinema, exotic grooves and anything with a healthy dose of sleaze. A little bit dangerous, a little bit glamorous and definitely not your average exotica record. DIG IT!
