Now that's a combination! Austin wildman Walter Daniels hooks up with Memphis rock'n'roll hero Jack Oblivian and The Sheiks for four tracks where punk, blues and rough-edged country collide in suitably unruly fashion.

The session includes wonderfully battered versions of Tom T. Hall's "I Got Lost" and Ronnie Self's "Two Six Packs Away", with fellow Oblivian and Reigning Sound man Greg Cartwright joining on guitar for both. On the other side they tackle the obscure Texas number "Drugs Will Kill Me" and the wonderfully titled blues oddity "You Look Bad".

Recorded in Memphis with Andrew McCalla, this sounds exactly like you'd hope from the people involved: loose, raw and rooted in old country, blues and rock'n'roll without turning into some polite exercise in Americana.
