One of the greatest and most gloriously deranged rock'n'roll records ever made, now back in a spectacular limited black and white splatter vinyl edition! After his legendary years with the 13th Floor Elevators, Roky Erickson returned with The Aliens and traded psychedelic garage blues for something considerably heavier, louder and more sinister. Zombies, vampires, demons, atomic monsters - Roky's wonderfully twisted universe was never short of things that go bump in the night!

Recorded during 1978 and 1979 and produced by former Creedence Clearwater Revival bassist Stu Cook, "The Evil One" is an absolute monster of an album. "Two Headed Dog", "I Walked With A Zombie", "Night Of The Vampire", "Bloody Hammer" and "Creature With The Atom Brain" are stone-cold classics, combining ferocious garage rock, proto-punk, heavy guitars and Roky's unmistakable, completely possessed vocals. Think 13th Floor Elevators colliding with The Stooges, Alice Cooper and a particularly unhealthy collection of vintage horror movies. Bloody essential!

This deluxe Fire Records reissue brings together all 15 tracks from the original 1978/79 sessions, spread across two LPs cut at 45 rpm for maximum sound quality. It also restores the original 1981 US cover artwork and includes a 24-page collector's booklet packed with rare photographs, archival material and new liner notes by Joe Nick Patoski, plus a download card.
