From the man who gave us the legendary 13th Floor Elevators comes one of the greatest, weirdest and most gloriously deranged rock'n'roll records ever made! After his years with the Elevators and his troubled time in psychiatric institutions, Roky Erickson returned with The Aliens and a whole new musical obsession: monsters, zombies, vampires, demons and enough supernatural madness to fill a dozen cheap horror movies.

Recorded in 1978 and 1979 and produced by former Creedence Clearwater Revival bassist Stu Cook, "The Evil One" is an absolutely killer mixture of raw garage rock, heavy psychedelic rock and proto-punk. "Two Headed Dog", "I Walked With A Zombie", "Night Of The Vampire", "Bloody Hammer" and "Creature With The Atom Brain" are stone-cold classics, delivered with Roky's unmistakable voice and a band that could really kick some serious ass. Forget the spaced-out acid trips of the Elevators - this is Roky at his loudest, toughest and most wonderfully unhinged!

This deluxe Fire Records reissue brings together all 15 tracks from the original 1978/79 sessions and restores the alternative US sleeve artwork from the 1981 415 Records release. The digisleeve CD comes with a whopping 32-page booklet featuring rare photographs, archival material and new liner notes by Austin music journalist Joe Nick Patoski. Essential stuff, and not just for 13th Floor Elevators fans!
