Laxisme are a band from Leipzig, but there's a lot more than just the French lyrics that provokes comparisons to that certain breed of French bands who play this special mix of straightforward and ultra-catchy garage and post punk with a subtle hint of Oi!, similar to what we've heard from bands like Telecult, Distance, Stalled Minds, Nightwatchers, Litovsk or early Bleakness, although various more garage-oriented Euro bands like the Belgians Mitraille, Pedigree and Itches; Achterlicht from the Netherlands and the Italians Dadar and Shitty Life also offer themselves as comparisons in some places. So yeah, nothing groundbreaking or new to hear here, but the simple formula still packs a punch when executed competently and the presentation here is top notch - delivered with excellent drive and energy, a bit of a '77 edge and a number of certified killer tunes like Grand Cerveaux and 7 Secondes round things out.
