Spanish pop-punk veterans K7's are back with "Take Two", their long-awaited second proper album - or third if you count their complete "Mondo Bizarro" tribute. Led by Luis Sanchez of Depressing Claim and Los Reactivos, the band deliver 12 songs that bounce effortlessly between classic power pop and full-throttle punk rock.

There's plenty of variety without losing the hooks: the darker, anxious punch of "Only Human" gives way to the sugary love song "Marry You", while "The Beginning Of The End" is pure melodic power-pop perfection, helped along by backing vocals from Kurt Baker, who also plays bass in the band. Then "T.R.U.M.P." promptly turns up the aggression with a politically charged punk blast.

Big melodies, crunchy guitars, harmonies and plenty of energy - exactly the kind of Ramones-meets-power-pop mixture K7's have always done so well.
