MEGA X is a live machine that naturally crosses over power pop, punk, garage, and indie, and they're back with their highly anticipated second album, marking a major evolution in their sound! The album features hit singles "Tarinai Bokura" and "Hologram City." Their first album, released in 2022, and their 2023 single "Tarinai Bokura" sold out quickly. With their 2024 single "Hologram City," MEGA X has evolved into an even more pop-driven sound. Now one of the hottest bands in Tokyo's live house scene, they are finally releasing their long-awaited second album. The album is filled with beautifully powerful melodies, heart-wrenching guitar riffs, and raw, honest rock 'n' roll that speaks directly to a world clouded by uncertainty. Their nightly live performances deliver a message to the audience—small yet potent, sparking the possibility of something bigger to come. This masterpiece marks the 10th anniversary of the Kirikirivilla label. The album's cover art was created by Illinois-based artist and illustrator Nadia Ahmed from Naperville. MEGA X has always been inspired by the punk and garage sounds that captured the hearts of youth across generations. Bands like Ramones, Weezer, Black Lips, and Fidlar have shaped their punchy, lo-fi sound and their playful, carefree mentality. Two years after their first release, during the COVID era, they've released a new album that takes a more serious look at the world. With an increased focus on Japanese lyrics, MEGA X reflects honestly on the times we live in, drawing inspiration from the Japanese punk band Going Steady, which they discovered in their teenage years. In a twist of fate, this album is being released as the final project for the 10th anniversary of the label founded by Shinya Abiko, who once played bass for Going Steady.
