Twenty songs, not a single one over three minutes, and more hooks than you can shake a guitar at! Philadelphia's 2ND GRADE are back with "Girls And Boys", their first album for Lame-O Records, and songwriter Peter Gill once again proves that you don't need five minutes to write a bloody good pop song. Sometimes two will do just fine!

Since forming 2ND GRADE in 2018, Gill (also guitarist with alt-country outfit FRIENDSHIP) has been turning out wonderfully inventive guitar pop, drawing inspiration from the golden days of BIG STAR, GUIDED BY VOICES and the finest 90s indie rock. Expect jangling guitars, crunchy power chords, frantic little drum fills and melodies that stick in your head long after the record has stopped spinning. Twenty miniature pop explosions, packed with more ideas than many bands manage across an entire career!

From the opening run of "Girls" songs to the second half devoted to the "Boys", this is a proper feast for anyone who still believes in the magic of a great three-minute guitar pop tune. Fans of TEENAGE FANCLUB, GUIDED BY VOICES and classic American powerpop should definitely investigate. And yes, the LP is coming too!
