Before OBITS had even released their debut album, they were already making one hell of a racket! On January 12th, 2008, Rick Froberg (DRIVE LIKE JEHU, HOT SNAKES) and his new gang took the stage at New York's Cake Shop for their very first live show. Somebody had the good sense to record the whole thing, and nearly nineteen years later, that historic little blast of garage-fuelled rock'n'roll finally makes it onto vinyl!

"Cake Shop" captures eleven songs from the band's earliest days, including future favourites like "One Cross Apiece" and "Widow Of My Dreams", alongside previously unreleased material such as "You Took An Axe". OBITS always had a knack for combining wiry, sharp-edged guitars, post-punk tension and a healthy dose of old-fashioned garage rock swagger. And here's your chance to hear where it all started, before the records, the tours and the reputation.

Mastered for vinyl by JJ Golden and pressed on limited CLEAR VINYL by Outer Battery Records. A proper little piece of underground rock history, and considerably more interesting than your average live album. Essential for OBITS devotees and well worth investigating for anyone who likes their rock'n'roll lean, mean and slightly dangerous!
