Softjaw are a power pop quartet from Long Beach, California, built around songwriters Dustin Lovelis and Tanner Duffy and a shared obsession with exactly the right kind of records. Think Big Star melodies, Cheap Trick guitars, Teenage Fanclub harmonies and a little of The Exploding Hearts' scruffy rock'n'roll urgency thrown in for good measure.

After a bunch of killer singles, an EP and their first full-length collection, "Love Can't Kill You" finds Softjaw delivering twelve new songs about love, loss and all the bloody trouble in between. Recorded by Lovelis at Dream Machine Studios in Long Beach, the album is absolutely packed with hooks but never gets too polished for its own good - big guitars, sweet harmonies and proper power pop songwriting with enough grit underneath to keep the whole thing rocking.

If names like Big Star, Cheap Trick, Teenage Fanclub and Exploding Hearts immediately get your attention, Softjaw really shouldn't require much more explaining. Twelve ridiculously catchy slices of California power pop'n'roll courtesy of Bachelor Records!
