Holy psychedelic obscurity! Here's a seriously rare slice of Mexican underground madness from 1968, finally rescued from the dusty depths of rock'n'roll history! THE FLYING KARPET take a bunch of familiar late-'60s hits and give them a gloriously raw, lo-fi makeover, turning songs by Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, The Byrds, Eric Burdon & The Animals, The Monkees and others into a wonderfully strange psychedelic trip.

Forget polished studio perfection! This is rough, spontaneous and full of that unmistakable late-'60s atmosphere, sounding like a bunch of musicians let loose in a smoky recording room with a stack of their favourite records and absolutely no intention of playing things safe. From "White Rabbit" and "20th Century Fox" to "San Francisco Nights", "My Back Pages" and "Gimme A Little Sign", the whole thing is a fascinating snapshot of how the psychedelic explosion sounded south of the border.

Originally released in Mexico in 1968 and now virtually impossible to find as an original pressing, this long-lost oddity finally gets a well-deserved reissue courtesy of Munster Records. A cracking discovery for collectors of obscure '60s garage, primitive psychedelia and weird international beat sounds. Dig it!
