Another killer pairing from Ace's Uprising series, selected by Keb Darge. Bobby Verne's "Red Hot Car" is a wild, sax-driven rockabilly dancer originally released in tiny numbers on California's Doc Holiday label in 1962 and now highly sought after by collectors.

The flip heads a few years forward to 1965 with Buddy Wayne's wonderfully odd take on the James Bond theme. Producer Gary Paxton's instrumental was given new lyrics and released on the short-lived Big Ben label, where it promptly disappeared. Rediscovered decades later, its driving beat made it a favourite first with rockabilly DJs and subsequently on the Mod and Northern Soul scenes.
