Thirty years of THE MAHARAJAS! And what better way to celebrate three decades of top-notch Swedish garage rock'n'roll than getting 22 bands from around the world to raid their songbook and give those tunes a good kicking? Chaputa! Records has gathered a mighty impressive bunch of garage, beat, punk and rock'n'roll troublemakers for this double LP tribute, and the result is one hell of a birthday present!

THE FLAMING SIDEBURNS, THE BOATSMEN, THE BAD BEATS, THE SEWERGROOVES, THE MOURNING AFTER, THE WRONG SOCIETY, THEE STRAWBERRY MYNDE, THE FRANTIC FIVE and plenty more have each picked a favourite MAHARAJAS number and recorded their own interpretation. Twenty-two bands, twenty-two songs, covering everything from familiar favourites to lesser-known gems from the band's extensive catalogue. And here's the fun part: THE MAHARAJAS knew a tribute was being made, but had absolutely no idea who was taking part or which songs they'd chosen. Now THAT'S how you organise a surprise party!

A cracking celebration of one of Europe's finest garage rock'n'roll bands, packed with familiar faces and a few welcome discoveries. Whether you're a longtime MAHARAJAS fanatic or simply love your garage rock wild, melodic and full of attitude, this one's got your name written all over it. HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY, YOU SAVAGES!
