Cindy Lawson, a veteran of the '80s Minneapolis punk scene, returns with a fierce new EP full of raw garage punk, sharp melodies and plenty of attitude. After decades away from music, Lawson sounds anything but nostalgic - these songs are driven by anger, resilience and the sheer pleasure of making noise again.

"The Reckoning" sets the tone with snarling guitars and a wonderfully defiant chorus, while the EP as a whole mixes the rough edges of classic punk with the immediacy of contemporary garage rock. There are traces of the Minneapolis scene she came from, but also the confrontational spirit of Patti Smith and the melodic bite of bands like Sleater-Kinney.
