A wonderful collection of four rare solo recordings by Éric Charden from 1966, showcasing the French singer at a time when the influence of British beat music was sweeping across Europe.
Unlike the polished pop sound many associate with later French productions, these recordings reveal a tougher, more energetic side, with jangling guitars, strong melodies and even a healthy dose of fuzz guitar. The result is a fascinating blend of French pop and mid-60s British beat that perfectly captures the excitement of the era.
This EP follows the excellent "Stone face à Charden" release and once again shines a light on an overlooked corner of French 60s music history.
Presented as a deluxe facsimile edition featuring a period-correct flipback sleeve, colour booklet, postcard and OBI strip, making it an attractive package for collectors of French beat, yé-yé and 60s garage-influenced pop. With some killer FUZZZ!
