Now here's a wonderfully strange piece of American psychedelic history! In 1968 a bunch of teenagers from Lynn, Massachusetts called Flat Earth Society were hired to record an album and advertising jingle connected to the local Waleeco Candy Company. Instead of ending up as just another forgotten commercial, "Waleeco" became a genuinely great garage-psych LP - originally available as a mail-order premium through Waleeco candy bars and now a serious collector's item.

And thankfully the story is every bit as good as the gimmick. Fuzzy garage rock, folk-rock, dreamy West Coast psychedelia, strange keyboards and beautifully moody quieter moments all collide across the album. "Feelin' Much Better" and "Four & Twenty Miles" provide the garage punch, while tracks like "Dark Street Downtown", "Portrait In Grey" and the closing psychedelic instrumental "Satori" show just how far these teenagers were prepared to wander from straightforward '60s pop.

This Guerssen reissue has been sourced from the surviving original 1/4-inch master tapes, revealing stereo detail compromised during the mastering of the original 1968 pressing. Housed in a sturdy reproduction sleeve with a four-panel insert featuring liner notes and rare photos. Great record, great story - and you don't even have to eat a bloody candy bar to get one this time!
