Pugsley Munion were a Massachusetts power trio formed in 1969, originally playing under the name Mask before deciding to ditch the cover-band circuit and concentrate on their own material. Their sound mixed heavy psychedelic rock with progressive touches, plenty of fuzz and the muscular power-trio attack of bands like Cream.

Recorded at New York's legendary Bell Sound Studios, "Just Like You" has a wonderfully strange history. The sessions were completed in only two days and were intended as the starting point for an album called "Three In One". The band expected to return for overdubs, mixing and further work, but J&S Records instead released the unfinished recordings as they were, changed the title and even lost the intended cover artwork.

That roughness is now a large part of the record's appeal. Heavy guitar work, pounding rhythms and late-'60s psych collide with the emerging hard-rock sound of the early '70s - raw American underground heaviness without much studio polish getting in the way.
