Originally recorded in the early 1980s, these two tracks capture United States Of Existence at the forefront of the emerging neo-psychedelic scene.
Based in Baltimore, the band drew heavily from classic 60s garage and psychedelic sounds, taking inspiration from groups such as Electric Prunes, Blues Magoos and other underground psych favourites. Their music quickly caught the attention of key figures including Greg Shaw of Bomp! and Phil Smee of Bam Caruso.
"Return To The Psychedelic" is an anthemic slice of neo-psych that first appeared on the legendary "Battle Of The Garages" compilation in 1981. On the flip side, "Shadows Of Rainbows" delivers another strong dose of jangling guitars, psychedelic melodies and garage-infused energy, originally featured on the cult compilation "The Rebel Kind" in 1983.
A highly recommended 45 for fans of early neo-psychedelia, garage revival sounds and labels such as Bam Caruso and Bomp!
Limited to 314 numbered copies and housed in a faux-60s Japanese-style picture sleeve.
