John Reis hardly needs an introduction. Best known as the driving force behind Rocket From The Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes, Sultans and Night Marchers, he's spent decades shaping some of the most exciting punk rock to come out of San Diego. "Navajo White" finds him once again exploring new territory while remaining unmistakably himself.

Leaning towards the darker and more reflective side of his songwriting, the album combines jagged guitars, hypnotic rhythms and memorable melodies with an atmosphere that recalls later Wipers, the moodier moments of The Saints, early The Church and The Damned's "Black Album". It's less explosive than Hot Snakes, but no less intense, trading pure velocity for depth without ever losing its raw edge.

Reis is joined by an impressive cast of longtime friends and collaborators, including Jason Kourkounis (Hot Snakes, Night Marchers), the late Rick Froberg on guitar, Gar Wood, Joe Guevara, Rob Crow and Jacob Turnbloom. Recorded in San Diego, "Navajo White" is another compelling chapter from one of underground rock's most consistently creative songwriters.
