GROOVE FARM - The surf shop/baby blue marine-overkill LP

Price: 25,90 €
price incl. VAT, exclude shipping

The Groove Farm started life in 1985, and released their very lo-fi indie 7" in 1986, which saw them swept along on the C86 indie-explosion. Often heard on John Peel and Janice Long's radio shows. The group were far more inspired by '60s garage bands and The Barracudas than there were by The Pastels. Often shambling and on the verge of everything collapsing when playing live, the NME called the "a garage band on speed." They hit the independents charts a few times with hits like the Buzzcocks-esque 'Surfin' Into Your Heart' and later they started to get more pop-psych with tracks like 'The Big Black Explosion.' This LP collects 10 versions of their most popular 2 minute songs 'Baby Blue Marine' (first released on Kvatch Flexi Disc(run by Clare Wadd who shortly after went on to co-form Sarah Records). 'Baby Blue Marine' is featured in the documentary about Sarah Records, 'My Secret World.' The other side 'The Surf Shop' are tracks recorded live at their reunion show. Comes in beautiful hand made sleeves, with a lucky bag, 8 postcards (of old gig posters), bubblegum, stickers and inserts. Limited to 101 copies on blue vinyl. Only a handful available, so be fast!
