Moscow's Holy Troika sound like somebody dug up a lost psychedelic LP from 1969 - except they bloody didn't! Diana on vocals, Ilya on organ and Alexi on guitar recorded their debut using vintage Soviet and other old-school equipment, and the result dives head-first into the darker corners of late-'60s psychedelia.

There's plenty of The Doors in the organ-driven rhythm section, flashes of Jefferson Airplane in the melodies and that wonderfully eerie West Coast psych atmosphere hanging over the whole thing. Spindly guitars, swirling organ, strange song structures and plenty of instrumental wandering make "Holy trinity" feel less like a modern retro exercise and more like something that somehow slipped through a crack in time. Proper psychedelic stuff - weird, hypnotic and nicely out of step with the modern world!
