This LP is in the style of The Pretty Things' classic album 'SF Sorrow'. You may get the general Pretty Things-y vibe, but there Kinks, Small Faces, much Freakbeat and a touch of R&B, it's like that classic point in musical history, where the pop/R&B bands all caught the mood change of the times, and started to add a bit of experimentation to their music, but without losing the melodic-pop-style. This LP would have once been up there with 'Ogden's Nut Gone Flake', 'The Village Green Preservation Society', 'Da Capo'... you get the picture? The Pariahs thus far have been much more appreciated in the past when stepping outside the uptight UK, and have built a loyal following in various places in Europe. This is their second long playing record. Vocalist Joe James is also known as Elmer, and you can find him putting on bands of the finest quality from all over the world, in his small but perfectly formed bar, The Elmer's Arms in Bristol.
