After their debut album OUT COME THE FREAKS! (released on LOST IN TYME RECORDS) THE MEAN THINGS from La Rochelle are now going to release their second album CHANGE OUR WAY. Much like their first album, the quintet follow up their musical path that is significantly influenced by original Garage Punk from the 60's as well as its revival from the 80's. The new album has again a lot to offer once again wild fuzz guitars, a strong voice, a catchy farfisa organ, a bit of harmonica and a lot of Garage Punk! The songs will remind you of heroes like THE CHESTERFIELD KINGS or THE MIRACLE WORKERS and will definitely make you want to dance. Among a range of their own rocking songs, they also included a cover of the classic 99TH FLOOR by THE MOVING SIDEWALKS, their version of HANG UP by THE WAILERS, CRY by THE MALIBUS, AND I KNOW by BROTHERS AND SISTERS and SOOPRIZE PACKAGE by SUPERCHARGER - the band's own interpretation of these songs, which are recorded in their signature style, slightly rougher and with a bit of 80's Garage Punk influence. In addition to the great music this LP also offers the coverartwork made by Merunik, like on their previous album so CHANGE OUR WAY by THE MEAN THINGS is not only musically a must for you, but also visually. All in all the album can just be summarised as 'mean' Garage Punk that will leave you in awe.
