The Unclaimed have been part of the Los Angeles garage underground since 1979 and were there long before the '60s garage revival became a movement of its own. Their primitive, moody sound left its mark on both the later garage punk scene and the emerging Paisley Underground.

"Never Said Goodbye" is the first Unclaimed album following the death of frontman Shelly Ganz and brings together previously unreleased material spanning different periods of the band's history - from early recordings to songs they were still working on during Ganz's final years. Rather than sounding like a collection of leftovers, the record has a surprising amount of urgency and energy.

Fuzz, Farfisa, snarling vocals and that unmistakable mid-'60s punk attitude remain at the heart of The Unclaimed sound. A fitting farewell to Shelly Ganz and, more importantly, another proper Unclaimed record rather than a museum piece.
