Now this is a lovely idea! "The Maharajas Appreciation Society" celebrates 30 years of Swedish garage rock'n'roll heroes The Maharajas with 22 different bands tackling 22 songs from the band's enormous back catalogue.

There's a particularly nice twist: The Maharajas themselves don't know who's on it! Each participating band has picked a favourite from the more than 150 songs The Maharajas have recorded and made their own version, but Chaputa! are keeping both the bands and the chosen songs secret until the finished records are presented to The Maharajas. Even the artwork remains under wraps - the whole project is effectively a surprise 30th birthday present for the band.

So, for the moment: 22 bands, 22 Maharajas songs, two LPs and zero spoilers. Given The Maharajas' catalogue of fuzzed-up garage, '60s punk, beat and rock'n'roll, there's plenty of great material for those mystery bands to get their teeth into.
