Straight out of the Australian underground and straight into the gutter! Originally released in 1984, "Axeman's Jazz" is the legendary debut album by THE BEASTS OF BOURBON, featuring TEX PERKINS, KIM SALMON and a bunch of other troublemakers from the Australian punk and garage scene. Recorded live in the studio in just ONE DAY, this is raw, dirty, dangerous rock'n'roll with absolutely no interest in sounding respectable!
Nine tracks of swampy blues, primitive garage punk, twisted rockabilly and booze-soaked mayhem, including "Evil Ruby", "Graveyard Train", "Psycho" and "The Day Marty Robbins Died". Think THE CRAMPS crawling through a particularly nasty Australian bar, with a little BIRTHDAY PARTY darkness thrown in for good measure. Loose guitars, sinister grooves and TEX PERKINS sounding like the last man standing after a very long night.
A genuine Australian underground classic, originally released on Green Records in 1984 and now reissued on BLACK VINYL by Radiation. Essential stuff for fans of THE SCIENTISTS, THE CRAMPS, THE GUN CLUB and all things wild, swampy and gloriously messed up!
