Denmark's wonderfully unhinged Powersolo are back with "Rip It!", another gloriously unpredictable blast of trashy rock'n'roll. Trying to pin these guys down has never been particularly useful, and this album happily jumps between garage rock, primitive blues, punk, rockabilly and assorted musical weirdness without asking permission.

Tracks like "What's The News" and "Bad Food And Violence" hit hard and tight, while the wonderfully warped "Bad Bad Man" wanders into almost Ween-like territory. That's really the fun of Powersolo: underneath all the madness, odd noises and sideways turns are musicians who know exactly how to make a killer rock'n'roll record.

Familiar enough to satisfy longtime Powersolo freaks, but packed with enough strange ideas and unexpected detours to keep things dangerous. Twisted, infectious and impossible to take entirely seriously - which is precisely how Powersolo should sound.
