Jack Meatbeat And The Underground Society were formed in the north-west Finnish town of Ilmajoki back in 1989. The very original line up, featured on their first ever release, included three guitar players, apart from drums, bass, and vocals. H-P Bjoerkmann, also in charge of most of their early lyrics, left early to pursue a very successful acting career later. His departure settled the line up down to the classic double 'twin' guitar sound they would become known for in the future.
After releasing two 7' singles of their own through a small Finnish independent label, Trash Can Rcds, the band moved all the way down to Helsinki in 1992, except for their original singer, who got married and quit the band. This is when Eduardo Martinez, born in South America, came into the picture and became their frontman.
This new, classic line-up recorded and released one 7'EP in 1993 and a CD in 1995 before touring across Europe and then making their only two official and highly acclaimed albums 'Neptuno'(1997) and 'Back from World War III' (2000).
At some point, main songwriter & guitarist Jukka Suksi joined an originally instrumental and just cover songs side project, The Flaming Sideburns but took also with him Eduardo as their singer, who by chance also took The Punisher from Jack Meatbeat & The U.G.S. as the bass player! So it was like 3 out of 5 still 'Jack Meatbeat' with this new project.
By the time Munster Rcds had released their final album, Jack Meatbeat & The UGS were offered an extensive European tour with The Hives, but unfortunately had to decline this offer down since the band had 'unofficially' disbanded before the same album had even come out, and so it read on the album credits.
Legendary French producer Marc Zermati from Skydog also flew to Helsinki after he had heard their last album, met Eduardo, Jukka Suksi and The Punisher. He offered his management services to revive the band, but it turned out to be an impossible business.
