Before Green River and long before Mudhoney, there was Mr. Epp And The Calculations - Mark Arm's first band and one of the strangest outfits to crawl out of the early Seattle punk underground. Formed around 1980, the group also eventually featured future Mudhoney guitarist Steve Turner.

"Ridiculing The Apocalypse" collects their wonderfully crude mixture of primitive punk, noise, bad jokes and deliberate amateurism, originally compiled on CD in 1996 from recordings made during the band's 1980-84 existence. Beneath all the chaos there's an important piece of Seattle punk history - long before anyone thought of turning the city's noise into a worldwide phenomenon.
