A previously unheard live recording from 1977 by Australian power pop pioneers Beathoven, capturing the band right in the middle of the teenage mania that made them stars in their native Tasmania.

Recorded live to two-track at Pascoe Vale High School, this is wonderfully immediate stuff - screaming kids, ringing guitars, big harmonies and pure '60s-inspired pop enthusiasm. Imagine early Beatles playing a Melbourne high school in the late '70s and you're getting pretty close. Alongside favourites such as "Please Don't Go", "Darlin'" and "Shy Girl", the set includes several songs that have never previously been released.

Beathoven would eventually evolve into The Innocents, another name treasured by power pop collectors, while their music has more recently found admirers in The Lemon Twigs. Fans of The Nerves, Rockin' Horse, The Poppees, Flamin' Groovies and classic Beatlesque power pop should feel right at home here.
