"Down Silver Streets" is a tribute to the songs of three much-missed figures from the British underground: Nikki Sudden, Dave Kusworth and Epic Soundtracks. Their intertwined history stretches from the wonderfully ramshackle post-punk of Swell Maps through The Jacobites and numerous solo records and collaborations.

This isn't simply a collection of distant admirers tackling favourite songs. Scottish singer-songwriters Mark Mulholland and Joe Armstrong and French drummer Stephane Doucerain all played extensively with Sudden and Kusworth during the '90s and 2000s, giving the project a genuine connection to the musicians and material they're celebrating.

Musically it leans towards the more melodic and reflective side of that world: chiming guitars, warm organ and keyboards, strong vocal harmonies and understated but inventive rhythms. A lovingly played collection that keeps the beautifully ragged, romantic spirit of Sudden, Kusworth and Soundtracks alive.
