Thirty years after its original 1996 release, Sebadoh's "Harmacy" gets the full anniversary treatment. By this point Lou Barlow and co. had dragged their lo-fi beginnings into something bigger without sanding off all the rough edges - fuzzy guitars, raw punk energy and painfully personal songwriting rubbing shoulders with some of the band's most immediately melodic songs. "Ocean" remains the obvious killer, but "Harmacy" is much more than one great single.

Coming in the wake of The Folk Implosion's unexpected success with "Natural One", the album became Sebadoh's first US charting release and one of the defining records of their career. It's messy, vulnerable, noisy and catchy in all the right places - proper '90s American indie rock from a band that helped invent much of the bloody vocabulary in the first place.

This 30th Anniversary Expanded Edition adds 16 bonus tracks, including alternate versions, rare B-sides, BBC sessions and live recordings.
