Twenty songs, not a single one over three minutes, and enough hooks to keep any self-respecting powerpop junkie happy for weeks! Philadelphia's 2ND GRADE return with "Girls And Boys", their first album for Lame-O Records, and songwriter Peter Gill (also guitarist with FRIENDSHIP) once again demonstrates his remarkable talent for squeezing a ridiculous number of ideas into ridiculously short pop songs.

Jangling guitars, crunchy power chords, frantic drumming and melodies that seem to come flying at you from every direction! There's plenty here to remind you of GUIDED BY VOICES, BIG STAR, TEENAGE FANCLUB and the golden days of American guitar pop, but 2ND GRADE have developed their own unmistakable way of turning little musical ideas into irresistible miniature anthems. Ten songs about girls, ten songs about boys, and absolutely no messing around!

A cracking collection of short, sharp and wonderfully inventive guitar pop tunes, bursting with energy and melodic charm. If you like your powerpop clever without being pretentious and catchy without sounding polished to death, this one's for you. And this edition comes on BLUE VINYL! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
