A very special tribute to The Lewd and their late singer J Satz Beret and bassist Olga de Volga. Spanish punk band The Safety Pins had the idea of recording the complete "American Wino" album and invited original Lewd guitarist Bob Clic to join them - turning what could have been a straightforward tribute into something much more authentic.

Clic re-recorded essentially the same guitar parts he played back in 1981, even using the same 1962 Les Paul Junior from the original sessions. No modernising and no cleaning things up: the aim was to reproduce the speed, attack and raw power of The Lewd, with The Safety Pins tearing through the songs as fans who clearly understand the originals.

The complete "American Wino" album is played in its original running order, with two additional bonus tracks. More than four decades later, Bob Clic revisits one of the great cult records of early US punk - this time as both a tribute and memorial to his former bandmates Satz and Olga.
