Heather Sawyer returns with "Scroll Of You Love Devil", a wonderfully strange collision of primitive garage rock, classic pop songwriting and mountains of fuzz. Short, sharp and deliberately rough around the edges, it sounds like someone dragged Brill Building melodies through a particularly filthy garage.

Underneath the noise there's a real knack for hooks, but Sawyer never lets things become too sweet or polished. Fuzzed-out guitars, scrappy rhythms and oddball turns keep the songs suitably unstable, giving the whole record the feeling that it might fall apart at any moment.

Raw, catchy and pleasingly weird garage pop with plenty of dirt under its fingernails.
