With their second album "Originalton West", Narkose deliver another dose of dark, angry German punk straight from the Ruhrgebiet. The Essen/Duesseldorf band formed in 2023 and already established their sound on the 2024 debut "UEberleben Koexistenz": fast, raw Deutschpunk mixed with hardcore and post-punk rather than polished modern party punk.

"Originalton West" digs deeper into the late-'70s and early-'80s roots of punk, while adding post-punk, noise rock and touches of classic rock. Lyrically there's not much reason to celebrate either: social inequality, militarisation, frustration and a growing sense of hopelessness provide the backdrop.

Eleven tracks including "1000", "Ruhrgebiet", "Menschheitswunden", "Keine Ziele", "Voellig Verdrossen" and "Chaosstaat" - bleak, confrontational punk from NRW with one foot in the Ruhrgebiet and very little interest in making things sound pretty.
