Ruckus hit the ground running with six tracks of high-energy punk rock'n'roll that somehow manage to sound tough, scrappy and ridiculously catchy at the same time. Hailing from Boston via New York, the band features former members of The Stance and The New York Hounds alongside players from Ingrates, The Prize and Loose Lips.

Think the melodic punch of The Boys colliding with early Boston hardcore, then throw in some New York Dolls swagger, Barracudas-style hooks and the rough edges of classic pub rock. Tracks like "Night Cruisin'", "Hot In The City" and "Talk Ain't Cheap Enuff" are built around big guitars and proper pop melodies, but played with enough speed and sandpaper-throated attitude to keep things well away from polite power pop.

Only six songs, but hardly a second wasted - a cracking debut full of hooks, energy and loud guitars.
