Now here's one of those stories that makes record collecting so damn much fun! Rusty recorded these songs in Switzerland in 1972, returned to London and pressed just 25 copies of the album to send around to labels in the hope of getting signed. It didn't happen, and apart from a few tracks appearing in altered library-music versions in 1974, the record essentially disappeared for more than half a century.
Which is a bloody shame, because this is cracking early-'70s British rock'n'roll - glam-edged, melodic and packed with the kind of hooks that would soon become known as power pop. Members had previously played in Sheephouse and Blitzkrieg and would later turn up in National Flag, while Rusty themselves shared stages with Dr. Feelgood, Brinsley Schwarz, Hawkwind, Barclay James Harvest and others.
Finally restored and remastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Jessica Thompson, with extensive liner notes by Plastic Crimewave based on new interviews with band members Danny Edwardson and Seamus Sell. Limited to 500 copies on black vinyl. Fifty-four bloody years late - but well worth digging out of the vaults!
