"Early Music" brings together Voxtrot's two essential early EPs, "Raised By Wolves" and "Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives", originally released in 2005 and 2006. These were the recordings that turned the Austin band into one of the great indie-pop discoveries of the mid-2000s.

At the centre is "The Start Of Something", their irresistible signature song, but there's plenty more here: jangling guitars, post-punk energy, beautifully arranged pop melodies and Ramesh Srivastava's wonderfully literate songwriting. There's a strong '80s British indie-pop influence running through the recordings, but Voxtrot turned it into something fresh enough to become one of the defining bands of the emerging blog-era indie scene.

The first "Early Music" vinyl edition appeared for the band's 2022 reunion, was limited to 2,000 copies worldwide and quickly sold out. Following their return and 2026's "Dreamers In Exile", this new pressing puts those early recordings back where they belong.
