Now this is exactly the kind of '60s garage story we bloody love! The Velvet Illusions formed in Yakima, Washington in 1966 while the members were still ridiculously young teenagers, armed with matching outfits, a wall of Vox gear and enough ambition to take them all the way to Los Angeles right in the middle of the Summer of Love.

Their debut "Acid Head" gave them instant notoriety when radio stations saw the title, completely missed the song's anti-drug message and banned the damn thing anyway. What followed was a small run of now seriously collectable singles packed with fuzz guitar, pounding garage punk, folk-rock and wonderfully teenage psychedelic weirdness: "Town Of Fools", "Velvet Illusions", "Born To Be A Rolling Stone", "Lazy", "Mini Shimmy", "The Stereo Song" and more. A young Roland Bautista - years before Earth, Wind & Fire - even turns up playing fuzz guitar on a couple of tracks.

"Acid Head" collects these rare recordings together with an insert featuring detailed liner notes and photos, telling a story involving failed management deals, mysterious record credits, a planned Japanese tour and even bloody Bigfoot! Fantastic mid-'60s American teenage garage-psych with a story almost as wild as the records themselves.
