Here's a seriously tasty little discovery from the American underground! ATHANOR were the Chicago duo of GREG HERRIGES and RICK VITTENSON, who released their impossibly rare debut 45 back in 1973. And what a beauty this promises to be! A wonderful collision of psychedelic pop, Beatlesque harmonies and early POWER POP, loaded with jangling Rickenbacker and Guild 12-string guitars, Fender Rhodes and the occasional blast of fuzz-wah guitar action.

"Graveyard" and "Inner Space" capture that magical early-70s moment when late-60s psychedelia was turning into something more melodic and power-pop-minded. Think BADFINGER, EMITT RHODES, ROCKIN' HORSE and LAZY SMOKE rather than heavy acid-rock freakouts. Great songwriting, lovely vocal harmonies and plenty of vintage guitar charm!

Guerssen finally brings this ultra-obscure 1973 single back to life, complete with a cool picture sleeve and a previously unreleased, superior alternate mix of "Inner Space" on the flip! A mighty fine little nugget for collectors of forgotten US psych, jangly guitars and early power pop. DON'T MISS IT!
