A great lost chapter of late-'70s Australian power pop finally gets a proper release. The Breakers came together in Sydney around 1979 after producer and all-round rock'n'roll troublemaker Kim Fowley brought guitarist Jarryl Wirth of Melbourne punks Babeez/News together with Ol' 55 songwriter and bassist Jimmy Manzie.

The band released just one single at the time, but "Night After Night" reveals there was much more in the vaults. Glammy power pop, punchy new wave and hard-edged guitar pop collide in songs that sit comfortably somewhere between Cheap Trick, The Cars and fellow Australians The Innocents. Also included is the original demo of Manzie and Fowley's "Lipstick & Leather", a song later demoed by KISS during the "Creatures Of The Night" era.

A particularly nice discovery for power pop collectors - not just an archival curiosity, but an album's worth of previously unheard songs from a band that really should have made more records.
